Yatra Buys TravelGuru - Cheap India FlightsIndian online travel agency Yatra.com has purchased hotel and flight booking company Travelguru.com.

Financial terms of the transaction, in which Yatra acquired 100% of Travelguru from Travelocity Global, were not disclosed.

Travelguru will continue to operate as a separate entity under its current name.

Travelguru is considered to be India’s largest hotel distribution network offering access to 6,500 hotels in India and 72,000 hotels worldwide.

Travelers are said to be booking 20,000 domestic tickets and 1000 hotels and holiday packages a day on Yatra.

Gurgaon-based Yatra is a venture backed company with funding from Norwest Ventures and Intel Capital.

Hedge fund Valiant Capital Management is also an investor in Yatra.

Yatra’s principal rival is Nasdaq-listed MakeMyTrip, which is the largest online travel agency in India.
